Press Releases
One of the main tasks of the Press and Information Office is to inform the Cypriot public about the government work and this is done through the daily issuing of press releases which are distributed to the Press and to other recipients (embassies, Press offices, news agencies, etc). Newspapers
According to the Press Law in Cyprus newspaper owners have to submit to the PIO, for record keeping, a copy of the newspaper they publish. The newspaper archive was therefore created which dates back to 1878 when the first newspaper was published on the island.

Films
The Cypriot film archive was created in 1989 after a decision of the Council of Ministers which assigned the task of organising and running it to the Press and Information Office. Thus the Section of Audio-Visual Productions was created.

Photographic Archive
The photographic Archive of the PIO owns a wide array of photographic stock with images from the 1950’s up to today that cover various subjects about Cyprus. The public, the press world, private and governmental operators and organisms can address themselves to the photographic department in order to select the photographs that they need through searching the archives of the department.
